Arriving at the Store and Checking In with a QR Code
Upon arrival at the store, select the "Check-in" feature on the app. Tap the check-in button to generate a QR code, which you will scan with the store's dedicated reader. After selecting your usage plan, the entrance door will automatically unlock, allowing you to enter and use the space.

Ending Your Use and Checking Out

Open the BizSPOT app again and select the "Check-out" feature. Tap the check-out button and scan the QR code to automatically process the credit card payment.

3. From the Barrier-Free Certification Investigator

When I called from in front of the store, the staff responded politely, and the manager crouched down to my wheelchair level to converse, making me feel at ease and allowing me to use the space comfortably.

There are wheelchair-designated seats inside, so you can use the desk while seated in your wheelchair. Even if multiple wheelchair users visit, if there is space available at other seats, they will accommodate you, providing peace of mind.

When using the free drink service, there is a button stick next to the tea dispenser, allowing you to select drinks from a high position while seated in a wheelchair. Moreover, they can bring drinks from the dispenser to your seat, which was very considerate and appreciated.

If you have difficulty moving your hands or are a wheelchair user, please do not hesitate to ask the staff for assistance. They are also considering introducing insert cups/holders with handles.

While wheelchair users need to use nearby restrooms (Tokyo Midtown Yaesu B1F), the in-store restroom is spacious and equipped with handrails, making it accessible for the elderly, those with mobility issues, and visually or hearing-impaired individuals.

If you wish to use an outside restroom, you will temporarily leave the store, and usage fees will continue to accrue. However, users who cannot use the in-store restroom can receive a discount for 30 minutes to 1 hour of travel time. (Discount coupons are distributed to those not registered with a credit card)

I felt that such detailed services are rare in other coworking spaces.

Additionally, they are committed to understanding and actively considering support for visually and hearing-impaired individuals. (At present, visiting with a guide helper is preferable if possible)

Through the investigation, I strongly felt the store's commitment to further barrier-free initiatives and expansion to other locations, which made me happy as someone directly affected. If you're interested, you can use the space for as little as 15 minutes, so I highly recommend visiting at least once.

4. Thoughts from the Store Manager and Division Manager

While recognizing the importance of barrier-free measures and accommodating people with disabilities in operating and expanding coworking spaces, we were unsure of specific initiatives. Meeting Mr. Yamaguchi, who used our services, allowed us to deepen our understanding.

We operate coworking spaces with the idea of "increasing the number of places where as many people as possible can comfortably use for business." We obtained barrier-free certification with the hope of creating a store where as many people with disabilities as possible can use comfortably.

Starting with one store, we plan to advance barrier-free initiatives not only in existing stores but also in upcoming locations with the cooperation of Ms. Ayumi.

Beyond making the store barrier-free, we will continue to work with store staff to devise ways and responses within our capabilities to ensure customers can spend their time comfortably.
