1. Latest Attraction Information at Universal Studios Japan | USJ Accessible by Wheelchair

The charm of Universal Studios Japan | USJ lies in its attractions that make you feel as though you've stepped into the world of globally popular works like Harry Potter and the Mario series.
However, many might think, "You can't enjoy the attractions in a wheelchair or electric wheelchair."

2. Can Wheelchair Users Enjoy It? Experience the Popular Attractions in Mario's World
One of the highlight areas at Universal Studios Japan | USJ is "Super Nintendo World™." This area consists of two sections: "Super Mario Land™," themed after the globally popular game "Super Mario," and "Donkey Kong Country™," themed after Donkey Kong, which was newly added in 2024.
In "Super Mario Land™," there are question blocks and music note blocks, making it feel like you've jumped into the game world, with plenty of elements for both adults and children to enjoy.
The attractions in Super Mario Land™ include "Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge™" and "Yoshi's Adventure™."
These attractions can, of course, be enjoyed by wheelchair users.
"Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge™" can be accessed if you can transfer to a designated seat.
However, it requires you to hold the steering wheel at all times, so those with upper limb disabilities may not be able to use it.
The other attraction, "Yoshi's Adventure™," can be enjoyed while remaining in a wheelchair.
You can ride on Yoshi's back and experience the world of Mario from above.
Additionally, in the spring of 2024, "Donkey Kong Country" is scheduled to open within the "Super Nintendo World" area. An attraction themed after the game character "Donkey Kong" will debut.
There are ways to enjoy the park beyond just the attractions.
You can also indulge in Mario merchandise exclusive to Universal Studios Japan | USJ and enjoy meals at "Kinopio's Cafe," where Toad prepares the dishes.
When you visit, be sure to get a "Power-Up Band." Wearing the "Power-Up Band" allows you to participate in various missions within the area.
Progress through the missions, battle the final boss Bowser Jr., and enjoy the story as if you were Mario.
Moreover, by linking it with the Universal Studios Japan | USJ official app, you can save your play records and continue from where you left off on your next visit.
In this space where online and offline merge, why not enjoy yourself to the fullest with family and friends, even as a wheelchair user?
"Donkey Kong Country™" is an area filled with exciting features, making you feel like you've wandered into a real jungle. With banana motifs, Donkey Kong's house, and a giant vine bridge, there are plenty of visual attractions, making it enjoyable just to walk around even without using the attractions.
The main attraction, "Donkey Kong's Crazy Trolley™," allows you to move close to the boarding area while in a wheelchair. However, when boarding the attraction itself, you need to transfer to the ride's seat independently, so depending on your physical condition, assistance from a companion may be necessary.
While it may seem daunting at first glance, there are testimonials from people who have successfully ridden the attraction in a wheelchair, expressing that they could enjoy it comfortably in a barrier-free environment.

4. Comprehensive Explanation of Universal Studios Japan | USJ's Barrier-Free Considerations
4-1. What is the Guest Support Pass?
Universal Studios Japan | USJ is visited by many people daily, and attractions can have long lines.
However, some wheelchair users and people with disabilities find it difficult to stand in line for long periods. The "Guest Support Pass" is a barrier-free initiative for such individuals.
The Guest Support Pass is a system that allows those with a disability certificate who find it difficult to wait in line, along with their companions (up to 6 people), to wait in a separate location.
The applicable disability certificates are as mentioned earlier. Additionally, the pass can be issued by presenting the studio pass for all those who wish to use it.
The pass is issued at the guest services within the park and the entrance of each attraction, but all those wishing to use it must apply together.
The Guest Support Pass allows you to wait in a separate location but does not prioritize entry time. Furthermore, while using the Guest Support Pass, you cannot use other attractions, so please be aware.
Additionally, "Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey™," "Flight of the Hippogriff™" (The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™), "Power-Up Band™," and "Key Challenge" (Super Nintendo World™) are not eligible for the Guest Support Pass, so you will need to wait in line as usual if you wish to use them.
