Toyoko INN is immensely popular for being accessible to people with disabilities and wheelchair users.

Recognized by Guinness as the world's largest hotel chain with a 100% occupancy rate, it also served as a lodging facility for COVID-19 patients, offering 21,631 rooms across 78 hotels in 16 prefectures, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.

The membership count is approximately 7.7 million as of June 2025, with a notably high repeat rate.

When wheelchair users think, "I want to travel somewhere!" the first concern is likely the accessibility information of the hotel they plan to stay at.

This time, we will introduce Toyoko INN's "Heartful Room®."

1. What is Toyoko INN's Heartful Room®?

In recent years, many hotels offer barrier-free rooms, but the names for these rooms vary.

Toyoko INN, which we are introducing today, operates 359 locations domestically and internationally across 46 prefectures, excluding Kochi Prefecture (as of June 2025).

* A location in Kochi Prefecture is scheduled to open in February 2026.

The concept is "a base hotel with a nationwide network." To ensure peace of mind for all guests, room designs and furniture layouts are standardized across all locations. The aim is to create a space where guests feel like saying "I'm home" or "I'm off" no matter which location they visit, always from the customer's perspective.

At Toyoko INN, barrier-free rooms are called "Heartful Rooms®."

2. There are two types of Heartful Rooms®

To ensure comfort for guests based on their condition, two types of Heartful Rooms® are available.

1. Heartful Room® Type A (Bathroom, toilet, and sink in one room)

All facilities are in one room, allowing guests to stay comfortably with minimal movement.

2. Heartful Room® Type B (Bathroom and toilet/sink are in separate rooms)

Unlike Type A, the bathroom and toilet are separate, but as shown in the photo below, ample space is provided for easy use by wheelchair users.

Additionally, there are two beds, ensuring comfort even if an assistant is needed.
